Reedy River Park
Greenville, South Carolina
A natural 45-foot waterfall, several historic mill sites, and the remnants of the old Furman College campus distinguish this landmark park, the birthplace of Greenville, SC. In a $12.5 million project, ALA restored and enhanced public access to the park by replacing a four-lane highway spanning the waterfall with a cable-stayed suspension bridge for pedestrians. The bridge leads to a series of overlook plazas, terraces and a public garden centered on the waterfall.
